My Pets:

I guess you can say I like my animals in two's - we have two dogs and two cats.  As we did not have any children, my animals became my babies.  They are VERY spoiled and love to stay with their grandmas when we travel. Well, I should say they were spoiled.  Now that we have Thomas, we have little time to shower love and attention on anyone else.  But, we do try!

Our dogs are Gertie (shepherd/Chow mix) and Peg (Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix) that we got through the shelter.  Gertie is thirteen and Peg is around six or seven.  Peg lost her leg before we got her but she gets around just fine, don't you worry.

Our Cats are Ender (from Ender's Game) and Frodo (from Lord of the Rings).  We named our cats after our favorite Science Fiction Literature characters - NOT from the movie!!  Ender and Frodo are brothers, Frodo turns nine years old in November 2007.  Sadly Ender died Saturday, October 20th, 2007 and is buried in my rock garden among the ferns.

Here are more pictures of the whole family:

Below are pictures of the dogs.  In the Christmas picture, the dog on the far right is Pluto - my mom's dog.  I guess that makes him Gertie & Peg's uncle.  Pluto and Peg loved to play together, rolling and slobbering on each other.  Pluto is buried next to Ender in the family, pet cemetery.

Now, some solo pix of Gertie.  Isn't she pretty?  It's shameful how we dress her up for the holidays!

Now, it's Peg's turn.  In some of the pictures, you will see she is learning how to herd sheep.  She wasn't very interested (she's more of a people & other dog person).  And, I wasn't very good at directing her; so, that activity did not last long at all!

Now, for you cat people out there.  Here are pictures of Ender & Frodo.  They love to be together, and still try to fit into the same donut hole on their cat tree.  They also love to pose for pictures!

Frodo's Solo Pix.  Frodo is a very sociable cat.  He loves to greet people at the door and you MUST say hello to him.  He also loves Christmas trees!

Now it is Ender's Turn.  When he was a kitten, he won several ribbons for Best in Breed.  But, he didn't like being shown, so we stopped, (plus he got too fat!).

Here is a picture we took of "the boys" on the day Ender, (the cat on the left) died.  We will miss him very much.
